Day 5-VSIP (TWH,TZY,TKY,EP)

EQ: What features does the  Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) that attracts people to take up a job or to stay there even though it is located outside Ho Chi Minh City.

LO: Students would learn how special VSIP and how it brings people many kilometers away and outside of the city over to there daily.

Today, we visited Vietnam Singapore industrial Park (VSIP). It is an industrial park that Singapore and Vietnam has collaborated together to form a city similar to Singapore. This city has almost all of Singapore's feature. Such as Lampposts and fences by the roadside. VSIP is located at Binh Doung City, a city that is just next to Ho Chi Minh City. In Binh Doung City, there's an University that is about 26 Hectares (They are still expanding). Comparing with our school which is only about 3 Hectares. There is about 11 blocks in this University and about three schools. They are Engineering, Nursing and Business schools. People would come all the way to the University as the air is not too polluted. Furthermore, there will be houses built around the University for people to live at. In the University, there is already hostile areas for students to stay at.

EQ: Why does Singapore want to work with developing countries like Vietnam and what are the advantages?
LO:  Students will see how Vietnam is working together with Singapore.

Singapore needs the space to expand its talents and show the world what it is capable of despite her size. Singapore needs space, thus they expand into other countries, collaborating with them to do projects. A good example is the VSIP I and VSIP II that we visited today. VSIP stands for Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park. The VSIP II has a total area of 2695km² with 1 capital town and 6 districts. Its part of Binh Duong. It also has a city centre, a university and a general hospital. The estimated people living in VSIPII is about 125000, and about 400000 people working and in the city, and about 24000 university students. The Eastern International University is 26 hectares and can still expand in future. Many people from Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Doung would want to come to this new city as it has many opportunities for the students. The students from the university can visit the factories near-by and the city is located at a very strategic location. It is only 17km away form the northern part of HCMC. There is also good transportation like the tramway system. The VSIP I is also a very good example of how Vietnam is collaborating with Singapore. The roads in the VSIP I have yellow boxes like Singapore, and they canals have green railings. Even the designer of the university is a Singaporean company, Surbana.~ZhiYong~

EQ: How does Industrial parks like VSIP benefit from global design.

With global design, Industrial parks like VSIP in Vietnam due to  global influence are expanding rapidly. With the influence, the industrial park is more organized and it increases productivity. With the Singapore inspired design, VSIP can have effective transport due to widened roads, therefore giving the factories a higher production rate like one equal to Singapore.

Therefore, global influence and working is beneficial to factories and industrial parks.
